Visualize dependencies between related Stories

We’re excited to share a powerful new feature that came out of our last Hackathon—Story Relationship Visualization.

Now, you can see Story relationships at a glance with an auto-generated Mermaid chart, spot blockers instantly, and identify critical paths to ship work faster. Dependencies are a natural part of complex projects, but tracking them shouldn't slow you down. Expand this chart on your Epic and Iteration detail pages today to instantly see blocked or blocking work.

 This new chart helps teams:

  • Easily see blockers before they slow you down – Get a real-time view of which Stories are blocking or being blocked.
  • Communicate earlier and keep work moving – Quickly identify dependencies so you can have conversations with the right people earlier, rather than later.
  • Understand the critical path to shipping – See how all of your Stories fit into the bigger picture of your team’s work.

How It Works

When you open an Epic or Iteration detail page, you’ll see a Mermaid chart mapping out all blocked and blocking Stories, so you don’t have to dig through lists or jump between pages to figure out what’s holding up progress.

  • Blocked or blocking Story relationships are visually mapped out
  • Expand/collapse, zoom, and explore the chart to navigate dependencies
  • Show or hide completed Stories to focus on what's ahead or celebrate progress with the team
  • Change the color key to highlight Story state or relationship type

Up Next: Sub-tasks Are Coming!

Stories often have multiple implementation steps, and soon you'll be able to break them down with Sub-tasks. Assign individual Sub-tasks to different team members and move them across your team's workflow independently. Sign up for Early Access →
